AirMarker R.Five

CHF 319.00

The AirMarker R.Five fits easily into any boat kit. Deployable in a matter of seconds, its bright color and high-altitude hovering ability will enhance your safety anytime you’re exploring the waters. In case of an emergency, this glowing orange inflatable balloon can rise up to 5 meters in the air. Its flight altitude can be adjusted to the water conditions and weather by varying the length of the tether line. A carabiner with an elastic band allows AirMarker to be securely attached to a pylon, railing, a life jacket, or a harness. The R.Five is supplied in a waterproof Dry Bag, which can be fixed to the boat with a Velcro system. After deployment, the AirMarker can be re-packed into the Dry Bag and secured to your body – it floats safely with you and won’t sink

The AirMarker R-Five costs 319.– CHF, EUR and 385.– USD in the respective currency.
The currency classification for purchase orders will be handled as follows:

  • Switzerland & Principality of Liechtenstein: CHF
  • Europe: EUR
  • Rest of the world: USD now available

The AirMarker R.Five’s solid housing is made of high-quality ABS material. It contains the release unit with 3 exclusive AirMarker helium cylinders, a connecting line made of a high-performance synthetic fiber and a special balloon with a 4-point safety mechanism including reflectors and an integrated light source. The LED requires one-time activation using the on/ off switch, after that it switches on automatically at 10 Lx and off at 20 Lx (light duration of 22 hours).

Once triggered, the balloon deploys and clearly and unmistakably signals for up to three days that someone needs help.

The AirMarker balloon was developed with an innovative special coating designed to positively influence its radar signature. However, depending on radar system parameters, weather conditions, distance, flight altitude, and dynamics, radar detection may also be reduced. In many situations, however, localization by rescue teams using radar search equipment can still be significantly improved.

This adaptive radar signature offers practical benefits – for example, by providing enhanced navigational cues and more precise localization support for search vessels involved in the rescue process. Due to the wide range of external influencing factors, no guarantee can be made regarding reliable radar detection.

The «AirMarker» system is based on a trigger unit and a luminous balloon that can rise to a height of up to 5 metres on a resistant high-tech rope. Once in place, it signals visibly, clearly and without any doubt from afar that someone needs help. The robust exterior of the AirMarker R.Four is made of ABS plastic. It includes the trigger unit with special helium cylinders, the connecting line made of a high-performance synthetic fibre and the special balloon with integrated light source.
